Job Description W2 ONLY- NO C2C We’re looking for a Microbiologist to support critical public-health testing by coordinating and performing laboratory analyses for SARS-CoV-2 and other environmental targets in wastewater and water samples. This role involves hands-on molecular testing, quality control, and ensuring compliance with safety and certification standards. What You’ll Do Perform wastewater sample concentration, RNA extraction, and PCR molecular testing Maintain laboratory records and sample documentation Evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory results Conduct quality-control checks on methods, materials, and equipment Assist with data compilation and report preparation Participate in the evaluation of new laboratory products and methods Adhere to all safety standards and certification requirements Perform additional duties as needed in support of laboratory operations What You’ll Need to Succeed Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a biological science (Required) Hands-on experience with RNA/DNA extraction and PCR/qPCR testing (Required) Strong understanding of molecular testing principles, theories, and practices Experience using molecular and standard laboratory equipment Ability to analyze, interpret, and prepare laboratory reports Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to environmental testing Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to successfully participate in proficiency testing programs ? Preferred Qualifications 1 year experience in molecular testing (Highly Desired)
