Job Title: Facility Service Associate Job Code: SX0010 Department: 804 Effective Date: 1/27/2018 Page 1 of 3 Job Description General Description/Purpose The primary function of the Facility Service Associate (FSA) is to ensure the cleanliness of all store areas such as bathrooms, break rooms, water fountains, and hallways. The FSA is expected to perform preventative maintenance on all store equipment, and orders and installs parts needed for repair. This includes coordinating with contractors to fix facilities and equipment. The FSA is also responsible for performing customer service while on the sales floor. The FSA examines areas outside of the store including fences, sprinklers, and parking lots for items that need be fixed or removed. This includes checking the garden center for any water leaks and inspecting lamps and displays on sales floors. The FSA is also expected to maintain a safe and secure work environment by complying with company policies and procedures for merchandising, housekeeping, safety, and monitoring for potential theft or security risks. Lastly, the FSA is responsible for completing all other duties as assigned. Work Schedule Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Required to work a Corporate schedule determined by Staffing Department, but may be changed by store management based on the needs of the store. Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advanced notification and approval by supervisor. Hourly Full Time or Part Time: Generally scheduled 39 to 40 or 10 to 25 hours per week, respectively; more hours may be required based on the needs of the store. Scope This position reports to the Support Manager Front-End and does not have direct reports. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Acting with Honor and Character: Integrity and Ethics Administrative Ability: Administrative Ability; Computer Use; Form, Report, and Log Completion Basic Equipment Use/Assembly: Equipment Operations; Hand Tools; Mechanical Relationships Being Organizationally Savvy: Organizational and Department Knowledge Cleaning: Cleaning Equipment; Cleaning Procedures; Cleaning Supplies and Chemicals; Trash Handling and Removal Communicating Effectively: English Language Proficiency; Telephone Etiquette; Verbal Communication; Written Communication Conscientiousness/Inspection/Detail Orientation: Attention to Detail; Dependability; Following Instructions Creating the New and the Different: Innovation/Creativity Customer Service: Customer Service Orientation Decision Making: Decision-Making; Problem Solving Demonstrating Personal Flexibility: Adaptability/Flexibility; Learning; Stress Tolerance Electrical: Circuit Breakers Focusing on the Bottom Line: Accountability; Initiative General Product or Service Knowledge: General Product and Service Knowledge Getting Organized: Multi-Tasking; Planning and Organizing; Time Management Inventory: Maintaining Inventory and Supplies Keeping on Point: Sense of Urgency Managing Diverse Relationships: Diversity Awareness Policies & Procedures: Lowe's Policies and Procedures; Lowe's Safety and Loss Prevention Policies and Procedures Power Equipment: Power Tools; Powered Equipment Quality Awareness: Quality Awareness Reading Comprehension: Reading Comprehension Relating Skills: Interpersonal Skills; Listening; Teamwork Repair: Troubleshooting Safety Orientation: Equipment and Tool Safety; Fire Safety; Personal Protective Equipment; Safety Orientation Job Title: Facility Service Associate Job Code: SX0010 Department: 804 Effective Date: 1/27/2018 Page 2 of 3 Job Description Key Responsibilities - Cleans each bathroom, break room, and water fountain. - Performs customer service while on the sales floor. - Logs into Execution Management System (EMS) daily to view assigned tasks; and checks email for information and requests from management. - Coordinates contractors to fix facilities and equipment by logging the work order, coordinating with contractor, explaining the issue, inspecting completed work, making comments on the work order if not complete, and logging information onto the work order. - Uses the cleaning equipment (e.g., Zamboni) to sweep, clean, and vacuum. - Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicates them to management and/or Loss Prevention. - Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment including the baler, banding strapping machine, carpet and vinyl cutting machine, chain cutter, compactor, floor sander, floor scrubbing machine, freight conveyor, glass cutting machine, Johns Manville insulation blower machine, Levolor roller shade machine, panel saw, pipe threading machine, tile saw, saw blade, wire cutting machine, pipe threading machine, and Zamboni. - Checks the perimeter by looking for tripping devices, ensuring netting is installed on fences, clearing debris, looking for pollutants; making sure gates are locked; making sure that outside products are chained down; inspecting parking lot for pot holes; and checking the sprinkler system. - Empties each of the trash cans at the entrance doors and replaces the sand in the ash trays. - Notifies Manager/Manager on Duty (MOD) of customer complaints, dissatisfaction, and procedure violations. - Walks each fence line to determine if there are any minor repairs needed and reports areas needing major repair or areas that appear to have been cut to the Manager on Duty (MOD). - Orders parts for the store equipment and installs them. - Walks the garden center to ensure there are no water leaks (Including the irrigation system, if applicable). - Supports the picking, staging and fulfillment of orders for pickup during the weekdays as needed. - Picks, stages, and fulfills orders for pickup on weekends regularly, when notified. Physical Requirements Lifting: Lifts up to 40 pounds without assistance Agility: The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks. This includes the ability to move throughout all areas of the store (e.g., sales floor, receiving, register areas, lawn and garden), Lowe's property surrounding the store, or additional work areas. Climbing: The ability to climb, work, and carry items up and down ladders. Hand-Eye Coordination: The ability to coordinate one's eyes with one's fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks. Manual Dexterity: The ability to make quick, accurate, skillful, coordinated movements of one hand, one hand in coordination with its arm, or two hands to grasp, place, move, or assemble objects. Physical Strength: The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups. Proper Lifting Techniques: The ability to properly lift heavy objects or equipment. This includes the knowledge of correct bending and lifting techniques as needed to properly position and use one's hands, feet, legs, arms, and back to lift objects or equipment, and to push, pull, and carry heavy objects. Protective Equipment: The ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions. Safety Harness: The ability to wear the safety harness to perform job functions. This may include performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods. Tight Working Conditions: The willingness and ability to work in cramped/tight working conditions where mobility is restricted. Visual Acuity: The ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels, signs, video displays including iPads) clearly to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Work Conditions: The ability to perform job activities, with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable, under difficult work conditions such as in extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, while exposed to constant/intermittent sounds. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction). Preferred Qualifications 6 months facility maintenance experience including preventative maintenance and repair on facility systems and equipment (e.g., changing cutting blades, light bulbs, filters). 6 months janitorial/grounds keeping experience. 6 months customer service experience.
