Job Description:
Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis.
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment
that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing
effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common
syllabi provided by the School.* Facilitates student learning by
delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and
course objectives.* Makes optimal use of available technology to
enhance instructional methods.* Develops/maintains course outlines,
syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintains
accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.* Engages
with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student
learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community
College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active
classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with
their learning (curricular).* Interacts with students and
co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with
College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.* Ensures
knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for
classrooms, labs and all learning environments.This is not to be
construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated
with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be
conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights
and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements,
and professional standards.Possesses an earned master's degree or
higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in information
assurance or related field as appropriate to the program;
orPossesses an earned related or out-of field master's degree, from
a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 semester
hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s)
level in information assurance or related field as appropriate to
the program; orPossesses an earned related or out-of-field master's
degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with
documentation in two or more of the following:Professional
certification (national, regional or state) in the information
technology fieldTwo years of professional employment in the
information technology fieldDocumented evidence of teaching
excellence in higher education, including date of
awardDocumentation of research and publication in the
cybersecurity/information assurance fieldDocumented relevant
additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to
18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's,
vendor, or military; orPossesses an earned bachelor's degree, from
a regionally accredited institution, in cybersecurity/information
assurance or information technology field as appropriate to the
program, with documentation in one or more of the
following:Professional certification (national, regional or state)
in the information technology fieldTwo years of professional
employment in the information technology fieldDocumentation of
research and publication in the fieldDocumented relevant additional
coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester
hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or
military.Possesses an earned out-of-field bachelor's degree, from a
regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or
more of the following:Professional certification (national,
regional, or state) in the cybersecurity/information assurance
fieldFour years of professional employment in the
cybersecurity/information assurance fieldDocumentation of research
and publication in the cybersecurity/information assurance
fieldDocumented relevant additional coursework beyond the
bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent
subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military.Must have
strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to
area of instruction, faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM
7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction.Ivy Tech
