At StarPlus Energy, a joint venture between Samsung/Stellantis, join us in establishing the first plant of its kind in Indiana. As a member of our team, you will play an important role in our company's positive culture by helping us build and maintain an effective organization as the automotive industry moves toward an electric future. Purchasing Specialist will need to know or learn the overall work process of purchasing work and how to use related systems. Will be responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, equipment, and services by developing, soliciting, and analyzing supplier quotations and coordinates activities with other departments to assure proper delivery, quality, reliability, and low-cost consistency. Locates new sources of supply, and coordinates order maintenance with existing suppliers. Resolves conflicts that arise with supplier delivery schedules or purchase orders. Must be able to attend business trips for Samsung SDI HQ in Korea and Hungary Plant for training, need for continuous collaboration with Korean/Hungary Plant personnel. Reports to the CPO on a regular basis (weekly/monthly) on group work, and immediately reports in case of emergency. Operate CPO-led meetings, disseminate CPO instructions to relevant departments, and manage schedules to achieve within schedule. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates activities with other departments to assure proper delivery, quality, reliability, and low-cost consistency. Documents and maintains necessary records and files. May work with agents and customs brokers for overseas material buying.Prepares weekly/monthly reports including the performance, inventory, and issues of each group of the purchasing team and reports them to the CEO and CPOCommunicate with Samsung SDI/STLA headquarters and related departments of SPE and respond to requested data.Works with necessary departments to minimize costs and maximize efficiency of purchasing function.Studies market trends and systems technology related to job. Timely execution of processing approved purchase requests into purchase orders and transmitting purchase orders to suppliers.Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders when needed.Maintain Supplier Performance Rating System in MRP system. Process scorecard monthly and input feedback from quarterly commodity strategy meetings.
