Job Description Job Description Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana is
the state’s largest hunger relief organization and one of the
leading food banks in the Feeding America Network. In additional to
vital hunger relief programs in our 21-county service area, we also
operate Fresh Connect Central, a regional produce cooperative for
Feeding America, serve as a contract reclamation site for Kroger
Central Division, and are a staging site for FEMA disaster
response. POSITION DETAILS: Mileage Rate: $0.70 CPM Home Weekly
Average Miles: 2200-2500 weekly Equipment: Late Model with Low
Mileage Additional Pay: Detention $80 per full day, following the
IRS-approved daily allowance. Prorated for partial travel days
based on time away from home. Drivers must be away from their tax
home overnight to qualify. Per Diem: First 2 hours are free
(standard industry allowance). After that, detention is paid at $30
per hour. Daily maximum detention payout is $180 per day. Routes:

Essential Functions of Driver - Class A OTR: The purpose of the
Class A Driver is to safely and efficiently operate commercial
motor vehicle in urban, suburban, and rural areas to transport
freight. This position is an over the road regional position with
the possibility of delivering to a wide variety of locations in the
U.S. The position may require loading and unloading food products
to charitable feeding partners and programs. All responsibilities
and duties will further Gleaners’ mission to be a leader in the
fight against hunger. Education and/or Experience of Driver - Class
A OTR: Class A CDL with current and valid DOT medical certificate
Candidate must have a good driving record 2 years tractor/trailer
route delivery experience High School Diploma/GED preferred
Experience with handheld route phone and/or electronic logging
devices are desirable Knowledge of DOT, state, and federal trucking
regulations is required Valid commercial driver's license/Clean
driving record /Must be insurable by company vehicle insurance
provider Other Relevant Skills and Abilities of the Driver - Class
A OTR: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Reliability & Dependability is especially important for this
position Ability to read, write, and understand instructions
Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with all
staff members, agencies, volunteers, and donors Ability to work
with people of diverse backgrounds Ability to perform basic math
functions, count accurately, and maintain accurate records Ability
to operate lift gate safely Work Environment & Physical Demands of
Driver - Class A OTR: Ability to sit; stand; walk; twist; bend; use
hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms Ability
to speak and hear clearly Ability to lift and/or and move 50 lbs.
and push/pull 2,000lbs. of product using manual pallet jack
regularly. Ability to drive with overnight and interstate travel
Ability to operate electric and manual pallet jacks. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close, distance,
peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus This
