Job Description Job Description The Floor Supervisor leads a
team of lift truck operators (LTOs), auditors, and customer service
representatives (CSRs). The Floor Supervisor plays a critical role
in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective functioning of the
regional distribution center (RDC), meeting customer requirements,
and maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
Responsibilities: Execute the daily operational plan in accordance
with the site leadership team’s guidance and direction. Schedule,
assign, and perform various warehousing duties including loading
and unloading trucks, put-away and picking, maintaining warehouse
organization and cleanliness. Lead, motivate, and direct the lift
truck operators and auditors to deliver best-in-class customer
service through operational excellence. Provide coaching and
leadership to all lift truck operators and auditors, and ensures
the company’s culture, values, and processes are upheld. Foster a
team environment that motivates, inspires, educates, and empowers
our team members to reach their full potential. Effectively leading
through clear, direct, and respectful communication. Support and
drive inventory management program and audit station using
warehouse management system (SAP). Identify, report, and fix
damaged inventory and shortages throughout the day. Interface and
communicate with customers, employees, and leadership team within
Southshore Companies. Drive continuous improvement though lean
thinking and a 5S mentality. Successfully operates a power
industrial forklift by moving levers, pressing pedals, and
controlling lifting apparatus. Perform daily forklift inspections
and follow forklift operating guidelines. Assist site leadership
team to train forklift operators to perform his/her assigned work
to the highest standards of excellence. Adhere to all safety
guidelines and protocols while operating forklift trucks. Replaces
forklift propane tank and/or charge batteries, as needed. Report
any equipment malfunctions and participate in regular safety
training. Drive a culture centered around safety as a number one
priority by ensuring a clean and organized working environment.
Performs all duties in accordance with Southshore Companies safety
manual. Regular (punctual and dependable) attendance is an
essential function of this job. Other duties as assigned. Education
and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. 3 plus years
of warehouse supervision experience required; additional education
may be substituted for years of work experience. Knowledge, Skills,
and/or Abilities: Leadership & management skills: ability to lead,
assign work, and motivate LTOs to deliver exceptional performance.
Ability to read, write, count, and perform basic math skills of
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Requires
initiative and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines for material
handling equipment. Ability to talk, listen, understand, and follow
directions. Good written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual
is a highly preferred skill for this position. Knowledge and
experience using a forklift SAP inventory scanning system.
Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint) products. Computer skills are preferred. Ability to set
priorities and flexibly to reset priorities in a changing
environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet
productivity targets. Ability to pay attention to details and
accuracy in inventory control. Good organizational skills.
Mechanical aptitude skills are required. Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work Monday – Friday plus overtime including some
Saturdays as needed by the business (especially during peak season
– January through April). Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Regularly required to talk and/or hear to communicate with
management, supervisors, employees, customers, and/or truck
drivers. Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery.
Frequently required to bend, twist, turn, kneel, and/or squat.
Frequently required to stand and/or walk on the concrete warehouse
floor. Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or
feel objects, tools, or controls. Frequently required to reach with
hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position
include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust
focus. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and
tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with a
warehouse. Safety equipment includes but not limited to a hi-vis
safety vest or shirt, safety glasses, gloves, closed toe shoes,
long sleeves, long pants, above ankle socks, and masks (as needed).
