ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Indianapolis, Indiana. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work in an Ortho/Trauma med/surg unit with 20% orthopedic patients and 80% trauma population • Patient ratios of 5:1 during days, 5:1-6:1 during nights and weekends • Must be flexible with weekend requirements - able to work 50% of weekends in contract • Floating required 100% - may float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within hospital or affiliate hospitals • Block scheduling only permitted if working Friday-Sunday • Charge coverage responsibilities may be needed with provided training • Must agree to possibility of precepting and/or having students shadow • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred • Minimum 2 years experience required • Travel experience required • Must have IN/Compact license in hand or submitted fingerprint application • Care for trauma patients including MVAs, shootings/stabbings, falls with many drains and tubes • Handle scheduled hip and knee surgeries with 24-48 hour stays • Work with high acuity, fast-paced environment requiring teamwork and strong communication • Skills include chest tubes, tracheostomy care, telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, central line management, wound care • Call-in shifts must be made up during pay period or added to end of contract • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Level 1 Trauma experience preferred • Self-scheduling type with every third weekend coverage Facility: This major healthcare facility is a teaching hospital that provides comprehensive medical services with a focus on trauma and orthopedic care.
