Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Central
Registry - Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM Hours
per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year MedSurg hospital
experience required. 2 years is preferred. License: IN State or
compact RN license required. Certifications: BLS through AHA
required. Must-Have: Minimum 1 year MedSurg hospital experience
required. 2 years is preferred. BLS through AHA required.
Description: We are seeking skilled Registered Nurses for our
Central Registry Float position. This role involves providing care
for a diverse population of patients with varying diagnoses.
Patients may have chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, CHF,
and end-stage renal disease. We manage GI issues, including
pancreatitis, bleeding, and inflammatory bowel diseases. Infections
such as pneumonia, cellulitis, sepsis, UTI, and c-diff are also
part of our patient care. We care for patients with neurological
issues like stroke, dementia, and traumatic brain injuries.
Patients experiencing mental health disorders, including
depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, are included in our care.
The position requires general medical and surgical nursing care.
Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, and
inter-professional communication. Utilization of the EHR is
essential for managing patient information. Required tasks include
IV therapy management and operation of various medical equipment.
We utilize Epic electronic records, pyxis machines, and telemetry
monitoring among other tools. The patient-to-nurse ratio is
typically 1:5-6. Candidates must complete our orientation,
including hospital orientation and nursing orientation with Epic
classes. Flexibility to float to other medical units is necessary.
Three weekend shifts are required within a four-week schedule.
