Position Summary United Petfood Producers is seeking a Plant Controller to support our Mishawaka, Indiana facility. This role serves as a key business partner to the Director of Plant Operations, driving financial insight, operational efficiency, and plant profitability. Beyond traditional plant accounting responsibilities, the Plant Controller actively participates in daily operational initiatives, providing forward-looking financial analysis, forecasting, and clear communication of the financial impact of business decisions. The position leads the plant finance function and collaborates closely with plant leadership and corporate finance to ensure achievement of KPIs that drive plant performance. Key Responsibilities Lead the Mishawaka plant finance function, partnering with plant leadership to forecast and influence future financial results on a monthly basis Design, implement, and maintain KPI dashboards; perform monthly variance analysis and provide actionable insights Prepare monthly financial presentations for plant leadership and lead the monthly financial results review with the Corporate Controller Manage the annual budgeting process and ongoing budget-to-actual variance analysis Perform ROI modeling and financial analysis for capital expenditure requests Maintain costing procedures, including standard cost updates; evaluate yields, scrap, and waste monthly Implement and maintain internal controls related to inventory management and operational activities Partner with plant leadership and operations teams to identify cost-reduction and process-improvement opportunities and support implementation of solutions Oversee the cycle counting program and lead analysis of inventory variances with development of corrective action plans Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance with a strong cost accounting background Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and operational efficiencies Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to clearly communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications Working Conditions: Full-time position. May require occasional evenings and weekends based on business needs.
